Abstract
The high-T creep behaviour of the Mg,(Mg,Fe), Fe and Co silicate olivines is reviewed and compared. The results are examined in terms of the point-defect chemistry of these materials, with particular emphasis on modifications to constitutive laws for high-T jogs and kinks. These modifications are one possible resolution of the discrepancy between activation energies for self-diffusion and those for creep. -J.M.H.
