Abstract
Conditions for the measurement of prostaglandin B by high-speed liquid chromatography with ultra violet detection are described. The method is simple, rapid and can detect as little as 5 ng of prostaglandin B2. Prostaglandins E and A were analyzed in lipid extracts of incubated rat renal papilla homogenates as prostaglandin B following treatment with base. The values for prostaglandin synthesis obtained with the high-speed liquid chromatographic method compared favorably with results obtained by bioassay.
