Abstract
Gynecologic malignancies account for over 26,000 deaths every year in the United States. Treatment uses the skills of many disciplines in order to administer adequate care. Surgery is the primary modality upon which other treatment schemes are based. Gynecologic oncology patients present with a wide range of ages, medical conditions, and clinical presentations. Surgical approaches also vary widely depending upon type of cancer and extent of tumor spread.
