Abstract

Upon reaction of (CO)₃Mo(η⁵-C₅H₅CHNMe₂), 2, with NaCp the new purple anionic complex [(CO)₃Mo(η⁵-C₅H₅CHC₅H₄)]^- PPh₄⁺, 3, is formed almost quantitatively. The structure of 3 was determined by an X-ray diffraction study. 3 can be cleanly alkylated at the metal center.
