Frequency of occurrence of the transversus menti muscle

Abstract

The transversus menti muscle was present in 9 of 16 cadaver specimens. The anatomy and the frequency of this muscle are discussed, as is the possibility of its clinical use in the reconstruction of defects around the angle of the mouth in selected patients.
