Fluid power

Abstract

According to Andrew Alleyne, hydraulics plays an important role in many applications. It is essentially the use of pressurized fluid in performing useful work. Additionally, it is a subset of a larger technology class known as fluid power, which performs work with either the gas phase or liquid phase of a fluid under pressure. Hydraulics is an important component in off-highway construction equipment such as excavators, wheeled loaders, bulldozers, and motor graders. Moreover, hydraulics is a choice in so many applications because it is where high power and high bandwidth is needed from an actuation system. Meanwhile, there are two primary types of control for hydraulics which are mechanical and electrical. It also have significant nonlinearities, including deadzones, friction, and saturation.
