The effects on film cooling performance of anisotropic eddy transport and the geometry of the plenum form which the film cooling flow enters the holes are presented. In the process, the effects of freestream turbulence, hole length/delivery, and blowing ratio are well documented. Numerical results show that the plenum geometry has a significant effect when the plenum height is two diameters or smaller. Sensitivity to the way in which the flow is delivered to the holes rises with velocity ratio. Computational evidence is consistent with the experimental findings.
