Abstract

The Lanesboro Dam is on the South Branch of the Root River near the center of the City of Lanesboro, Fillmore County, Minnesota. The existing hydropower facility at the dam was operational until 1978, when the reservoir was drawn down due to inadequate dam safety. The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of rehabilitating the existing powerhouse turbine units for hydropower operation.
