FAULT DETECTION COVERAGE OF MEMORY SUM CHECK.

Abstract

An analysis of memory sum check is done which determines the probability of fault detection. Single and double precision sum checks using two's complement and one's complement arithmetic are evaluated for both data and address faults. The analysis can be used to compare the coverage provided by memory sum check with that of parity schemes.
