Abstract
Small or intracanalicular acoustic neuromas can be difficult to diagnose. During the past 10 years, an air-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan has been the definitive test. Recently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has replaced the CT in some otologic centers as the diagnostic test of choice. Although MRI certainly provides good definition of soft tissue in the CPA, it is not infallible - as the following case demonstrates.
