Abstract

With the purpose of enhancing the purification performance on organic pollutants in wastewater, the purification unit had been successfully prepared, using photocatalyst balls of TiO2/TiC-Ti with heterojunction. The photocatalyst balls of TiO2/TiC-Ti had been fabricated by heat treatment in carbon powder for TiC-Ti coatings. XRD and SEM results show that TiO2 rutile with nano-size particles (40–60 nm)forms on the surface of the photocatalyst ball. The photocatalyst balls of TiO2/TiC-Ti show satisfactory adsorption for methylene blue (MB)solution. After avoiding the high adsorption, the photocatalyst balls exhibit excellent and stable photocatalytic activity. Furthermore, the purification unit using the photocatalyst balls obtains good performance for wastewater on turbidity and oxidation reduction potential.
