Exploring the normal myelogram. An historical perspective

Abstract

Review of the literature and a personal series of patients suggests that patients with lumbar radiculopathy who undergo laminectomy despite a normal pantopaque myelogram have about a 50 percent chance of harboring a surgically treatable lesion.
