Abstract
Humans are looking for sustainable strategies to reduce automobile usage. Studies have found built environments such as density, diversity, and design have an impact on commute mode. Transportation facilities are one of the specific dimensions of built environment; the studies about the effect of it on mode choice are limited. Using self-administered survey by smartphone apps in Xi'an, the multinomial logistic regression model is used to analyze the impact of transportation facilities on residents' commute modes, including walk, car, bus, subway, bike, e-bike, and shuttlebus. Finally, it is found that residents are likely to commute by bike when there are shared bikes near living or working locations. People are likely to commute by car and shuttlebus when bike and vehicle lanes are built on different horizontal levels. The results also indicate that with the growth of vehicle lanes, residents tend to commute by bus, subway, or e-bike.
