Abstract
This study presents the measurement system and experimental results in ultrasonic diffraction tomography. The tomographic reconstruction is based on the measurements of profiles of the complex amplitude of the waves scattered from the object. The results are tomograms of various phantoms in water and show a resolution of a few wavelengths. Signal processing issues such as errors due to the measurement and quantization noises are discussed. Simulation of these effects are given and related to the scattered characteristics, number of profiles, and frequency domain resolution.
