Abstract

The incorporation of 18O from H218O into the product of stereospecific alkane hydroxylation by [Fe(II)(bpmen)-(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2-H2O2 provides the first strong evidence for the participation of a high-valent iron-ore species in the mechanism of a non-heme iron catalyst.
