Abstract
We report on an evalution of a commercial system for providing power to electronic circuits via an optical fiber. Such technology can allow for the operation of sensors at high voltages or low temperatures without electrical connection to a data acquisition system. We report on the electrical performance of the devices as well as their thermal behavior and their use for powering digital electronics.
