Abstract

An evaluation procedure used in the selection of a commercial, turnkey computerized system for processing electrocardiograms in a university hospital is described. Within this framework, the processing of ECGs includes data acquisition, pattern recognition, measurement, interpretation, storage, and report generation. The overall objective of this search is to select a system that will improve the quality of ECG services without adversely affecting patient costs.
