Abstract
Nine patients with acute myocardial infarction combined with mild signs of cardiac failure were explored hemodynamically both before and after digoxin injection. The myocardial function of these patients was depressed. After digoxin injection, no significant change was noted of the cardiac output, of the left ventricular filling pressure and of the aortic blood pressure in this group of patients. Nevertheless, 4 of these 9 patients improved their myocardial function. The results are discussed.
