Abstract

Two methods suitable for standard combine harvesters are described. One involves the use of combines during actual harvest, the other a specially modified, stationary combine. The effect of 3 cylinder-related variables (material-other-than-grain rate, cylinder and concave type, cylinder speed) on overall performance was studied. Performance criteria are discussed, analysis procedures described and sample performance results obtained by both methods presented.
