Engineering education electronic information exchange

The purpose of an engineering education electronic information exchange is sharing ideas and advancing the state-of-the-art of teaching and learning in engineering. The author proposes that setting-up, monitoring, and maintaining an electronic conversation network be investigated. An electronic exchange could help initiate and maintain a conversation focused, among other things, on the following topics: new directions in engineering education in the United States and in other countries; reviews of research and practice; improving teaching and learning effectiveness and efficiency; and sharing ideas from classroom research. Particular attention is given to bulletine board systems, BITNET (because it's time network), and information utilities.
