Abstract

This article chronicles the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities’ journey and transformation into an engaged university through the intentional and strategic implementation of a broad range of policies, structures, initiatives, and programs that helped elevate the centrality of civic engagement as a key strategy for advancing the institution’s research, teaching, and public service missions. Highlighted are the key considerations, critical incidents, and lessons that facilitated the university’s civic engagement transformation.
