Electronic compensation of optical fiber nonlinearity in on-off keyed 40 Gb/s WDM transmission systems

Abstract

We propose and analyze a novel technique to compensate fiber nonlinearity in on-off-keyed 40Gb/s long-haul WDM transmission systems. Our analysis shows that the proposed technique can increase the overall system margin by >1.0 dB.
