Elasticity Properties and Kernel Singularities of Liquid Crystal Polymers

Abstract

We examine the stability of flows of liquid crystal polymer materials under shearing perturbations. We apply the Laplace transform method to study the well-posedness of the resulting initial-boundary value problem and interpret the singularities of the transformed fields in terms of the elasticity properties of the material.
