Abstract

The effect of temporal narrowing of the pulse with quadratic phase modulation reflected by the DFB structure based on the media with relaxing and nonrelaxing nonlinearities is considered. It is shown that the presence of the linear chirp in an incident laser pulse leads to the effective narrowing of the reflected radiation. This effect is connected with an additional narrowing of the nonlinear DFB-structure forbidden band caused by the frequency deviation on the pulse intensity envelope.
