Abstract

Special considerations for treatment of dyslipoproteinemia in the elderly are presented. The elderly, because of available time, resources and greater concern about health, volunteer for screening programs at disproportionate levels. National recommendations encourage detection and treatment of patients with elevations of blood cholesterol, including the elderly.
