Dynamic analysis of a motor-gear-mechanism system

Abstract

Both analytical and experimental approaches to investigate the dynamic response of a motor-gear-mechanism system due to the varying inertia of the mechanism are presented in this paper. Numerical simulation of the whole drive system is implemented so the performance of a system with inconstant speed can be studied. Both the experimental determination of the characteristics of the DC motor and the experimental verification of the performance of the total system from analytical results are also presented.
