Abstract
Brief descriptions are given of Z. aquatica vars. angustifolia, aquatica, brevis and interior. It is noted that var. interior generally has more than twice as many pistillate spikelets per inflorescence as var. angustifolia, and that hybrids between the two varieties are fertile.
