Do drug prevention effects persist into high school? How project ALERT did with ninth graders

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Previously, this social influences substance use prevention program for grades seven and eight (Project ALERT) demonstrated positive effects on students' use of cigarettes, marijuana, and, to a lesser degree, alcohol at the end of grade eight. In this study, which reports the results of the same cohort through grade nine, virtually all of the previous behavioral effects had decayed.
