IS THE PATIENT’S LIFE AT RISK? ▪ Dizziness or vertigo can be the presenting symptom of ver-tebrobasilar ischemia or hemorrhage, particularly in older patients with thromboembolic risk factors (e.g., hypertension, diabetes mellitus, arrhythmia, valvular disease) or a bleeding diathesis.
