Abstract

Researchers are involved in an en exhaustive search to study lean sigma and its program management disciplines that are needed to develop to achieve world-class performance. Nearly all lean sigma definitions are merely different points of views that may include the metric view, the tool view, the project view, the project view, and the philosophy view. The research identified some of the important lean sigma management disciplines that are critical to program success. These include customize lean sigma for your organizational context, develop the right organizational structure, use the lean sigma program to develop leaders, integrate human resource practices in the lean sigma program, and align lean sigma projects with the strategic objectives of the organization. These also include use disciplined project management, extend lean sigma to supply chain partners, and validate project benefits.
