Development of hydraulic laboratories using EASY5

Abstract

A hydraulic laboratory was developed where a hydraulic motor was loaded by driving a pump. The circuit was successfully simulated using EASY5, a systems analysis software package. Students can develop an interactive control model which can be verified by direct comparison to the laboratory results. This activity is useful in helping students understand the limitations of a computer simulation but also gives them hands on experience which is useful in designing hydraulic circuits.
