Abstract

The use of a nonsoluble contrast such as Ethiodol or Lipiodol for microdroplet angiography is demonstrated. This can be used to obtain accurate arteriovenous malformation (AVM) transit times, trajectories, and velocities of microdroplets as they travel through the AVM. This information is useful for the fundamental understanding of AVM hemodynamics and helps the operator to perform a safer and more successful embolization.
