Abstract
Research on organizational commitment in a health care setting has been scarce. Given the changing nature of the industry and the challenges it must address, a study of the determinants of organizational commitment would provide valuable insights into the dynamics of managing human resources so that bonds between the employee and the organization are strengthened. The purpose of this study therefore is to investigate the determinants of organizational commitment in a health care setting using data collected from 413 employees in a medical center. The implications of the findings for hospital administrators are presented and discussed in a later section of this article.
