Abstract

Objective: With this work it is pretended to know the prevalence of problems related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which are cause for consultation at the emergency department of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves from Granada. Methods: By using the interview to the patient, it will be collected information about patients' drug intake through a survey, which will be evaluated along with the clinical history in order to identify and to classify drug-related problems presented by the patients. Results: 28.6% of total detected PRMs were related to the use of NSAIs, out of which 75% were due to treatment ineffectiveness and 81.2% were avoidable. Conclusions: NSAIs are the group of drugs most frequently implied (28.6%) in the appearance of PRM among the users of the emergency department of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves from Granada, being the majority of those (81.2%) avoidable.
