Abstract

The technique for solving the inverse problem is initiated. This type of problem consists of pre-determining the material properties of the members of mechanical systems to produce desired design criterion. The methodology provides minimum weight design, minimum deflection design, and maximum frequency design. Furthermore, guidelines to speed up the design process for highspeed four-bar mechanisms have been established.
