Abstract

The most widely applied model in the banking industry was developed by A.V. Hill at Indiana National Bank (now INB National Bank) as part of Hill's doctoral thesis in 1977. This model, called 'Chexpedite,' was tested in several banks from 1977 to 1982. A microcomputer-based version was developed in 1984 and rewritten in 1989. Chexpedite has been successfully implemented in several financial institutions. The installation of Chexpedite at several financial institutions is summarized in this article.
