Abstract
One nice property of Bézier curves is that not only can the de Casteljau algorithm be used for evaluation, it can also be used for subdivision. It is shown here that this property is not shared with other members of the wide class of curves which possess evaluation algorithms similar in kind to the de Casteljau algorithm.
