Abstract

There are often clear stylistic differences between works of different cultural origin. Such distinctions are noticeable even between the musics of geographically adjacent countries, such as Germany and France. Put simply, music is full of cultural elements. In this chapter, we consider the music of local cultural regions within music as a ‘whole’. This whole comprises all music from every culture. Interestingly, music can be translated from one cultural shape to another by use of technology, which emphasizes the global nature of music.
