Abstract

This study investigated the cross-cultural similarity of vocational interests of students and professional engineers in the United States and Mexico (N = 557). Multiple discriminant function analyses were used to investigate the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory scales that discriminate among the four groups. Results indicate similarity among all groups, but Mexican and U.S. professional engineers were dissimilar on a number of avocational interest scales.
