Abstract
Time response data are utilized in pulse- and step-testing programs using Fourier Integral Transforms to obtain a system's response characteristics. Advantages and applicability of these methods are reviewed with particular attention to computer-monitored chemical systems. Methods are analyzed to minimize error and to adapt the testing program to continuous generalized systems.
