This article, devoted to the renewal of magical practices in Antonio Saavedra Guzmán's “El Peregrino Indiano”, analyses the new substances used by Tlantapuylama the witch to foretell, on his bidding, the chief Maxixcalt the fate of the battle against the Spaniards.
