Abstract

We discuss the importance of mathematical modeling in synthetic biology. We present the essential elements of the Synthetic Biology Software Suite (SynBioSS) and discuss the experimental construction and testing of two synthetic biological devices as guided by SynBioSS. In addition, we discuss the computer-aided design of logical-AND gates and of protein devices in bacteria. © 2013
