Abstract
A computer-based home measurement system has been developed and implemented for assessing progress and planning changes in caring for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Although there is no known cure for CF, a greater understanding and improved management have significantly increased the life expectancy of CF patients. This home monitoring program should accelerate the improving prognosis for CF patients by providing frequent data points for early detection of adverse trends and timely therapeutic intervention.
