COIL DEVELOPMENT AT STATE-FUNDED U.S. UNIVERSITY SYSTEMS

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

There are several reasons to focus on system-wide facilitation in collaborative online international learning (COIL) virtual exchange (VE). Focus on university systems brings with it a clear benefit in terms of the scale of experience reported, the broader challenges of working through system bureaucracy, and the potential advantages of the coordination associated with university systems. This chapter reviews system-wide COIL facilitation at five public university systems, including the State University of New York (SUNY), the University of Minnesota (UMN), the University of Washington (UW), Ohio University (OU), and Pennsylvania State University (PSU).
