N2 - Coastal problems, such as erosion, exist all over the world. Technology has developed many tools and techniques to defend against hazards like erosion, but these things continue to be a problem. Part of the problem is a lack of awareness that the problem exists. The purpose of this paper is to present examples of coastal problems to increase awareness of the issues and educate with new examples of the problems. Iceland has a great diversity of coastal problems; including erosion, volcanic activity, seismic activity, glacial activity, catastrophic flooding, pollution, and climate change.
