Abstract

The usefulness of hyperthermia with the Thermotron RF-8 in combination with radiotherapy to treat deep-seated and bulky tumors was investigated. It was often possible to raise tumor temperature to therapeutic levels when proper cooling of subcutaneous fat was done. Capacitive heating with the Thermotron RF-8 was safe and useful in treating deep-seated and bulky tumors that failed to respond to conventional treatment.
