Abstract

A study was performed on classical Wigner phase space approximation to cumulative matrix elements in coherent control. It was found that the classical limit of the Wigner-Weyl representation was used to approximate products of bound-continuum matrix elements. The range of utility of the method was quantified through an examination of model problems, multiarrangement channel photodissociation of CH2IBr and single-channel Na2 dissociation.
