Abstract

The ethyl acetate extract of a sea cucumber of Holothuria genus furnishes holothurin-B and echinoside-B in addition to a mixture of seven sterol-3-sulphates and a mixture of three sterol-3β-xylosides. Two of the sterol sulphates 3f and 3g have been found to be new members. Complete assignment of the sugar protons of holothurin-B and echinoside-B has been made on the basis of 1 H- 1 H COSY spectra.
