Abstract
The Independent Turbine Testing Facility (ITTF) located at the St. Anthony Falls Hydraulic Laboratory has recently undergone extensive upgrading, partially funded by a grant from the small hydropower program of the U. S. Department of Energy. Shakedown of the upgraded facility has been completed. The facility shakedown provided definitive answers regarding its capabilities and operational characteristics. This paper describes the upgraded facility, its resultant capabilities and characteristics, as well as its usefulness to the hydropower community.
