Abstract

BVR photoelectric photometry and positions are reported for 437 stars in 49 Palomar Sky Survey fields. A relation is derived between the Johnson BVR photometry and the E and O photographic magnitudes on the Palomar plates. The BVR photometry, the E and O magnitudes, and the 1950 positions are presented in the accompanying catalog. Finding charts for all of the sequence stars are also included. We use the photographic E and O magnitudes to derive magnitude-diameter relations for the blue and red plates for 28 of these fields. The magnitude-diameter relations have essentially the same shape with small shifts in zero point from plate to plate. This preliminary result suggests that a common function will describe the magnitude-diameter relation for the entire Palomar Sky Survey when corrected for variations in zero point.
